          CUT,<\/strong> Open University Lectures, March 5, 2025<\/span><\/p>

          CUT organised a lecture in Paphos on March 5, 2025, titled “Use of Space Technology in Agriculture”, as part of its series of Open University Lectures for the public. During the presentation, projects and initiatives from ECoE and CUT related to agriculture and the environment were showcased, focusing on adapting to climate change. Specifically, the discussion highlighted the use of space technology and smart agriculture systems made available to farmers, which add value to the agricultural sector by supporting decision-making and promoting sustainable development. During a dedicated session on \u201cReducing the Environmental Footprint in the Agri-food Sector & Carbon Farming\u201d, Mr. George Papapostolou from RFF and Mr. Giorgos Galanis from i-BEC presented CARBONICA\u2019s cross-border vision for an Excellence Hub in Carbon Farming, involving Greece, Cyprus, and North Macedonia. The event brought together regional stakeholders and experts to advance sustainability in Mediterranean agriculture. During this event, the objectives and recent activities of CARBONICA were highlighted. Participants visited the Cyprus Phassouri Plantations Co. Ltd. and explored the methodologies implemented by the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, including the CARBONICA Field Diagnostic Toolbox.
